Our leadership and staff have been working diligently to steward the gifts entrusted to us, and to ensure the financial stability and transparency of our operations. Your generosity supports the ministries of Pax Christi and allows us to provide support for our non-profit partners, Justice Grants, and Justice Outreach work in our community. We are grateful for your commitment to the mission and vision of Pax Christi.
The Finance and Development Council and Community Council have made strategic decisions with the support of our talented staff to leverage every resource so our community will continue to flourish during COVID-19.
Supporting our Pax Christi Ministries through Stewardship
We are grateful to everyone who has been able to continue supporting Pax Christi financially through online giving or by mailing contributions to the parish office. Thank you! We know that many of you are experiencing financial hardship and cannot contribute at this time. We understand. Although we are experiencing a significant decrease in contributions, we believe that together we will bridge this challenging time.
Sustaining Pax Christi Staff
With support from the Finance and Development Council and the Community Council, Pax Christi applied for a Paycheck Protection Program loan under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and received funding on April 20. The proceeds will be used for payroll and utility expenses during the next 8 weeks, as required by the CARES Act.
Helping our Members
Pax Christi has set aside a Care Fund designated to assist members who are experiencing extreme hardship. If you are in financial distress, please reach out to the Director of Care and Support Ministries, Jean Thoresen, at jthoresen@paxchristi.com.
Serving our Community through Outreach Ministries and Justice Grants
Justice is a core value of Pax Christi. We will continue serving the most vulnerable and economically disadvantaged members of our greater community. We have made financial contributions to Loaves & Fishes and St. Stephen’s Men’s Shelter. The Pax Christi Justice Grants Board has been reviewing grant applications from organizations serving the disadvantaged and will award grants this spring as originally planned and budgeted.
Serving from Strength
Pax Christi is a strong, resilient, and Christ-centered community. We are committed to operating from strength. Pax Christi will continue to provide dynamic ministries, work for justice, and bring hope and healing through our outreach work. Our methods may change, but our mission and purpose will not change: “To welcome all and to joyfully experience the peace of God’s love and mercy.”
On behalf of leadership and staff, we are grateful for your ongoing stewardship and commitment to Pax Christi.
