For the weeks of October 13, 2019
Dear Members of Pax Christi,
Thank you for your support of your parish and your participation in this past weekend’s Homecoming Celebration. The video of parishioners sharing their stewardship at Pax Christi that was played at the Masses this weekend will be sent later today under a separate Flocknote. Please take a moment to view and reflect on how God’s gifts are expressed and shared with others through the stories told by those videotaped, and how you may be called to participate in the life of the parish and beyond.
I have a note of gratitude to share with you, expressed by Maryanna Harstad, Program Director at the Church of Gichitwaa Kateri:
On behalf of the church of Gichitwaa Kateri, I am writing to express appreciation to Pax Christi Catholic Community members for donating school supplies and backpacks. The school supply drive this year was a tremendous success. Backpacks and school supplies were provided to 135 students through your thoughtful donations. Several parents, and grandparents who are raising their grandchildren, expressed how grateful they are for these donations, as they would not have had the money to purchase them. Thank you for your generosity in supporting the ministry of the Church of Gichitwaa Kateri. It is an honor to continue the connection that has been built over the years.
I also have an update on the book drive from a few weekends ago. Although you have until November 3 to donate books that support the library at Blessed Trinity School, thus far we have collected 65 books and over $2200 in cash donations for books to be purchased. Thank you to the Twelve Baskets Ministry for providing the planning of the Book Drive, and of course thank you to you for sharing your resources so that the gift and love of reading can touch the hearts and imaginations of young people.
Blessings to you this autumn week!

OR Four Wednesdays, beginning October 23, 9:30–11:00am
Have you ever had a desire to share your thoughts and feelings with others about the clergy abuse crisis in the Catholic Church? This crisis has left a deep wound in the Body of Christ. It continues to have a ripple effect in individual lives, our Church, and the broader community. The opportunity for you to be listened to in a safe, confidential, and compassionate environment is here at Pax Christi. In a small group setting, you are invited to come as you are to share your story and allow your voice to be heard. Four consecutive weeks of small group listening sessions will be offered by trained facilitators. Choose between a morning or evening series. Sessions will focus on a specific topic such as concerns, fears, forgiveness, transparency, and accountability. Each session will include time for prayer, reflection, and discussion questions. Let us join together in this important work of healing. The registration deadline is October 14. Contact Jean Thoresen, firstname.lastname@example.org, or 952-405-7211, with any questions.

ALL SAINTS DAY MASS, HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION
Friday, November 1, 8:30am and 7:00pm in the Sanctuary
This is the time of year when our thoughtful remembrances belong to those whose lives have touched ours, yet no longer walk among us. May we never forget how blessed we are to have a heritage of saintly people, those officially proclaimed by the Church, and those whose sainthood lives within our hearts.
Saturday, November 2, 5:00pm Mass
It is the church’s tradition in November to celebrate All Souls Day, which commemorates all those who have died. As a parish community, we set aside this evening to pray with those among us who have experienced the death of a loved one these past 12 months. Names of those whose funerals we celebrated at Pax Christi from November 2018 through October 2019 will be read during the Prayers of the Faithful at this Memorial Mass. All members of this community, especially those who have experienced the death of a loved one, are welcome to join us at this special Mass. You are invited to bring a picture of your loved one for our prayer table in the narthex.
WINE, WOMEN, & SCRIPTURE
Friday, November 8, 7:00–9:00pm, $20 RSVP
All women, ages 21 and older, are invited to join us for an evening of faith and friendship. Utilizing the reflections of Sr. Joan Chittister from her book, The Friendship of Women: The Hidden Tradition of the Bible, we will explore how women in the Scriptures serve as models of wisdom for our relationships today. Refreshments and wine (including non-alcoholic options) will be served. Be sure to register as soon as possible, as last year’s event was a sell-out, and we anticipate that to be the case again this year.
