March 2019 eNEWS for Boomers and Beyond
You are receiving this email as a way to keep you informed of the upcoming activities hosted by Pax Christi Boomers and Beyond Ministry. We hope you can join us and also invite your friends.
At our February 21 meeting of Boomers and Beyond, we were privileged to meet and welcome three guests who work in our community and serve seniors. Sue Bohnsack, who is the recreation supervisor with the Eden Prairie Senior Center, invited us to check out the recreational, fitness, educational, and social activities that are available at the senior center.
We were then introduced to Officer Strommer. She is the senior liaison officer with the Eden Prairie police department. Officer Strommer told us about her role in the community and how she works to help keep seniors safe.
As seniors, we are often the target of scams, fraud, and identity theft. To help us avoid becoming victims, Pauline Sager, an Investigative Aide with the Eden Prairie police department spoke to us. She shared tips from her 40 years of experience, including how to identify red flags, current local crime trends, and information on what to do if we are a victim of a scam. The information Pauline presented armed those attending with helpful suggestions to identify and avoid these types of crimes.
